Greenville History and Records

The local history section of our special collections area contains local town histories and genealogies, town reports, and a wide array of unique items.

Our YouTube channel contains video of local history programs we have had here in the library.

Columbian Manufacturing Records

Chamberlin Free Public Library applied for and received a major grant to conserve and digitize ledgers of the Columbian Manufacturing Company, the earliest textile mills in Mason Village (present-day Greenville) and New Ipswich. This grant will preserve these very important historical documents and, for the first time, allow public access to the digitized versions of the ledgers for study and genealogical research. This preservation project was made possible through funds received from the sale of the New Hampshire Moose Conservation License Plates and is administered by the New Hampshire State Library. The PDF versions of these records can be found here.

Greenville Town Reports

We are digitizing many of the town reports from the earliest ones to the present. These are the years presently available in PDF format. Some of these are large files. They are located here:

Greenville 1972 Centennial Booklet

A digitized copy of Greenville’s 1972 Centennial booklet can be found here:
