Astronomy Nights Returns

As part of our continuing program series "Astronomy Nights", celebrating the International Year of Astronomy, Chamberlin Free Public Library, Greenville, NH will present "The Moon You Never Really Knew" on Monday, November 30th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  This program will highlight the many features of the Moon visible with the naked eye, through binoculars and through a telescope.  The recent confirmation of the existence of water on the Moon, rekindled international interest in exploring the Moon, and the recent 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing makes this a perfect time to learn more about our only natural satellite.  Learn about the origin of the Moon, what kinds of features are visible and when to see them, and why the Moon is very important to us.  After the program, we will be viewing the nearly full moon with several large telescopes (weather permitting).  Some of the features we will be observing are seen only when the Moon is full.  Chamberlin Free Public Library is located next to the Greenville Town Offices at 46 Main St., Greenville NH.  Our phone number is (603) 878-1105.  We hope to see you on November 30th.
