Our library catalog is now available online by clicking on the link above. Please
be aware this is a one-way link. To return to our web page, you will have to return your browser to www.chamberlinlibrary.org. You can search our catalog by title, author, subject call number, ISBN or several
other criteria or a combination of these. Whatever you want to search by goes into the text box to the right of the
"Value to Search" drop-down box. When you have input the search parameters, click on the search button and
a list of books matching your input is displayed. Only eight titles are shown at a time, so you will have to click on
the Next button to see more titles. Each book title is linked to more information about the book -- just click on the underlined
title. A new window opens and all the bibliographic information is displayed including the status of the book -- whether
it is checked out or not. In this screen, you can see buttons for selecting the next book that met your search parameters,
the previous book, putting a hold on the book (reserving the book for you) or going back to the previous menu.
From
the main menu, you can use an advanced search using Boolean operators, but this is not usually necessary. You can also
renew books by clicking the Renew button. You are asked to input your library card barcode number (the 14 digit number
on the back of your library card) WITHOUT spaces. Then input the last 4 digits of your home phone number. Then
click on the Login button and the materials you have checked out appear on the screen. If there are items that can be
renewed, the Renew button will be active and simply click on it to renew. The new due date will appear and you can click
on the Back button.
To put a hold on a book,
select the book you want through a search, click on the title as described above and choose the Hold button. The next
scree will show you the title, author, status and the number of patrons who already have the book on hold. To continue,
click on Hold and an alert will pop up telling you the item has been put on hold for 10 days and where you are on the waiting
list. Click on OK and then Back.
